So Aston 'glory run' Martin not so quick over 1 lap afterall 0.628 is a long way back but to be fair they only got 1 run and would've had to leave some margin.
I think you're overlooking quite a bit.

Brand new car, Alonso's first qualy session where he doesn't like the steering or the brakes. There is plenty more to come from them when they get this car dialed in how he likes it and when Lance recovers fully.

Kinda bad session for the new guys... Sargeant, Piastri, De Vries....
Shows the level on current grid. it's extremely competitive, strongest ever by far in my opinion.

I wonder what Piastri is thinking king right now regarding his Alpine to McLaren move.

Oh I think Leclerc could have been close, so let’s calm down Red Bull fans. I find it very odd that Ferrari didn’t try again unless it was a technical issue but apparently it might be tactical choice to save tyres. We’ll see.
I don't see a lot of RB fans cheering for a 'done and dusted season' though, what's there to calm down?
The people that seem to think '23 is already over aren't the RB fans to be sure.
Ok - just look at page 42…

Did Alonso run out of tires? Disappointed that he did just 1 run.
Don't think it would have mattered that much anyway tbh. I'm hoping he will get to the podium tomorrow. Race pace looked good!

I dont think alonso with a perfect lap could have beaten sainz in the end, I think P5 ahead of merc is quite realistic. No one can be expected doing zero mistake lap.

I'm more interested in car performance vs Gasly being out of position because he got a lap deleted.

He jumped ship from Alpine, but the McLaren seems to have gone way backwards.

For sure very competitive! Piastri vs Norris is very interesting. Might just be what Norris needs, beating such a prodigy. Might put last year's against Ricciardo into different perspective. Exciting times!

only Ferrari and RBR drivers had 2 new sets for Q3.
The F... tire allotment in F1 needs to change.

That's fair, still a worst show for it with 3 cars running.

What's more interesting is how close Piastri is to Norris. Neither the Alpine of the Mclaren will be tasting glory any time soon. Piastri will get more street cred taking Norris to task, than he would beating Ocon.

Not entirely. For the latter two, yes, hyped drivers who underperformed. Sargeant did a time equal to Norris and was only 2 tenths away from Albon
