Max started 15th and finished only about 5 seconds behind Perez who started on pole.

SC aside, his overall pace was much faster even though with a faulty car at the end he was on the back foot.

That's it for me, pains me to say it but he's no longer needed, especially with the wage he demands. You could get a solid driver in Norris for a fraction of the cost.

If the car is not up to scratch next season or behind and no clear path of development like it is now I see him going.

Schumacher brought Ferrari back again before his time they where worthless he got them to make a reliable car suited to his style.

If today's talk from Toto is legit, then Mercedes will be comfortably the second best car very soon. Add the extra development time they have over RB and fingers crossed we will start to see some actual racing up front in the odd race where RB have a less than good day.

He has had a race winning car in every season he has raced so far. He failed to win last year but his teammate did. His teammates have only failed to win at least one race only twice. One was Heikki Kovalainen who was dropped after and the other was Bottas who had a tyre explode in the closing laps of a race while leading.

No other driver has ever had 16 years of race winning machinery. That is something that simply can't be argued
