I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt up till their first set of significant upgrades before I start judging validity of the concept. But it’s clear they are well behind, which is immensely disappointing.

I don't think we should talk about the concept of the car that is wrong.
The car itself is slow. The F1 75 was quick. Maybe it doesn't work post TD 039? Maybe, but we don't know for sure.

Also, clearly they expected much more, therefore in the SIM they saw completely different results and numbers. Not looking good.

I am not saying anything of winning the championship, but i honestly cannot tell if the concept is bad or Ferrari have failed to understand it enough to extract its potential. Anyway, rather be optimistic, pessimism is just no fun.

Hard to know. This phenomenon of the car getting progressively slower as the race goes on has been with us forever. Spa and Zandvoort last year have been easily the first examples and the most egregious was Hungary last year where the first stint was super easy and then the car lost performance on the second stint...

I don't know what causes that but it's still there.

Hard to know. This phenomenon of the car getting progressively slower as the race goes on has been with us forever. Spa and Zandvoort last year have been easily the first examples and the most egregious was Hungary last year where the first stint was super easy and then the car lost performance on the second stint...

I don't know what causes that but it's still there.

Maybe as fuel load decreases, DWF decreases and just car doesn't get the traction.

Sainz wasn't going anywhere with mediums either, more than 4s behind Russel, when Lance pitted he still made no progress towards Russel despite this being the moment to push.

Hard to judge Leclerc on softs, gap was rather stable after he cleared Hamilton, maybe the tires were going who knows.

Sainz couldn't even clear Stroll on the same compounds on a track which was supposed to be stronger for Ferrari than AMR. That was a bummer. It seems like he is only concerned about being ahead of Charles.

meh, RBR wasn't really pushing at the end with all their problems. But SAI could hang with the Mercs and LEC was faster than them in the first stint, even at the end of his stint with softs. And then became much slower compared to the other teams that opened a gap to SAI.

Yeah i remember that in those races the car was getting slower compared to the competition the lower the fuel but here we were mid race and already the pace was just slow.

I can't think of anything else that explains such a huge gap. Again, the F1 75 did a 31.6 last year... : (
