Never liked this race. I know Max blew up last year, but this has always been a thoroughly boring event. After the initial phase of the GP, the second half of the race is usually dull and the field wide spread. Winner usually miles ahead
Think I’ll watch the highlights, expecting a dominant Max win to shut down the ridiculous and delusional thoughts of anyone who thinks Perez can win this title.
I've had the same sentiments in the past about this circuit, but the modifications made in 2020 did seem to help the flow of the track.
It's amazing to think Leclerc had a 34 point lead in the championship (and 46 points up on Max) after this race, and Max still wrapped up the championship as early as he did. Even before the mechanical issue forced retirement, Max was falling back from Leclerc on pace (likely tyre management related). Scary thought, considering the outright pace of the RB this season.
