Yeah for sure. He also seemed to just lack rear downforce in fp1 so we'll see what they do. Probably put whatever Perez had onto Max's car for tomorrow
Actually it looks like it was traffic or an error in T13, all 6 tenths lost there basically...

Interesting. If they don't expect any issues with tyres on Sunday, I'd keep this setup, easier to defend in the race with it.

And they call it a stall. A STALL!

It's still very likely they will go with higher DF as the car was very nervous on all fp2 runs. Verstappen aborted his 2 previous laps because he had big moments in turn 1 and then in T4. He also lost the car in T13 on his third run, but decided to finish the lap.

Another thing to consider, perez was already 0.6s up on alonso (on course to probably 0.8-0.9s by the end) up until being blocked by zhou so I definitely think higher wing is the optimal one.

Yes, agreed, I kinda focused primarilly on tyres, but obviously its always the whole picture :D

It just occured to me that RB will have that upgrade in Baku, but Baku is a sprint weekend. I guess it wouldn't make any difference because the alternative is to delay to Miami and just not have it at all in Baku.

“The reality is it’s absolutely ludicrous to be doing the first sprint race of the year in a street race like Azerbaijan,” said Horner in today’s FIA press conference.

“I think from a spectacle point of view, from a fan point of view, it’s probably going to be one of the most exciting sprint races of the year. From a cost cap perspective, all you can do is trash your car and it costs a lot of money around there.”

I don't see what makes Baku inherently more dangerous than elsewhere. Drivers have always been quite well mannered around there. The most risk you take there is using DRS on the main straight. The rest of the circuit is just about keeping it between the walls which the drivers managed well enough last year.

Jeddah is the race that looks silly, but there were no notable crashes.

The FIA should use green loctite as an anti tamper sealing in engines and gearboxes.

Pretty sure the only screws involved with the driveshaft are for the boots. Edit: i.e. directly involved with the driveshaft.

Technically AMUS says:
A screw on the side of the gearbox had come loose.
How or why this causes driveshaft failure is anyone's guess.

Could be anything, bolt in the diff casing, retainer/preload ring for the output bearing, plenty of things in there would let the driveshaft fail.
