"Side of the gearbox" is vague; the casing or the cassette? No screws on these driveshafts afaik and the closest nearto might be a boot fastener leading to a loss of lubrication in the CV joint. Assuming the article referenced in this tweet even exists, and if it does, it even be accurate. Bearing or assembly failure is more serious, I think they'd be overhauling or replacing the unit and not just swapping in a new driveshaft.

Very interesting. Thank you for finding that

So far this year they have only shown two beam wing configs

They used the high df spec at Bahrain and the low downforce single element at Jeddah and now Australia. Only 2 different beam-wings.

Not the best of the weekends for Red Bull with everything looking below par. The tire strategy was definitely a mess, considering the whole field was doing 2 warm up laps, there was no reason for Max to go with just one.

Convinced if they had done the double build lap they could have gained a tenth or two. Hopefully the reliability is fine for tommorow

With the bad downshifts, would they have even been able to use full power?

Repost....Chocolate car confirmed.

I checked the telemetry and Max definitely did not have full power on his last run. I compared an early run from Q1 (blue line) to his Q3 lap (white line) and you can see that he lost power in Q3. Down 3-4km/h on the main straight, and down 3-4 km/h on the run to Turn 9, and the run to T11. :?
