Yeah I didn't think race direction could be worse than Abu Dhabi but clearly I was wrong. This race direction, even excluding the penalty for Sainz, has been atrocious.

FIA are more concerned about the drama than the racing. 2 red flags absolutely ridiculous. Same in Jeddah rolling out the safety car for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

Of course he was not aware of a driver being there because Stroll should have not been in this sandwich. It was a racing incident and if any it was Stroll’s fault.

Give him a good car and he will be as smooth as it can get - a grandslam last yr at this very GP. give him a struggling car and he will try to outperform it push it too much resulting in such incidents.

Yes, but he can’t make mistakes and be desperate when struggling. This is Ferrari, they will make strategy mistakes, reliability mistakes. If you add driver mistakes to the mix, they will never win.

It wasnt his mistake. Yes he turned in but its not like he had not given any room, Alonso was already there and hi didn’t touch Alonso. Stroll breaked late and put his nose in between Leclerc and Alonso on the turn.

The penalty for Sainz was so harsh. Yes apply it if Alonso finished out of the points but he ended up still on the podium

Bad luck for Charles; Racing incident… at least his Power Unit will be somewhat more fresher for the next races.

Carlos had a solid race and made a couple of good moves, but it somewhat cements the car as the 4th fastest race car… there’s a long way to go yes, but the SF23 has a longer way to go…

4th fastest car in Sainz hands. Pretty sure Leclerc would be in the fight for 2nd.

Leclerc is clearly already done with the season.

After finishing 2nd last year despite the insane amount of disasters he probably started the year thinking he would have been able to compete for the title.

Reality is quite a bit different:

- The car is terrible
- Amazing quali but DNF due to engine failure in the first race
- Amazing quali but started 12th due to engine penalty in the second race
- Shitshow in qualifying and racing incident in the third race

I don't see any scenario where Leclerc will stay with Ferrari unless they produce a rocket ship for 2024, which doesn't seem very likely.

Ferrari need experience driver not two young gun. Sainz can avoided the second restart to get some point for Ferrari. First 3 are more care full on each restart. Need more maturity in racing for Sainz. He will be gone by this year.
