I read somewhere that Fry wanted the TP job and nothing else & Mclaren didn't want to give it to him...
TP or TD?
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.
@2018 Singapore Grand Prix drivers press conference.
Doesn’t really matter tho, Pat Fry really half got much to show for his last decade in the sport.
And who in your *(Mod edit: unnecessary personal jibe removed)* opinion in McLaren has got much to show for the last decade in F1. Very strange to stop at exactly a decade. I'll go ahead and assume you mean exactly a decade so that rules out Podromu and Stella. I would like to say that Brown has something to show but the proof is in the pudding and McLaren are still nowhere. The only thing McLaren has done that we could call anything close to half decent in the last decade can be traced to Pat Fry.
Here's what you need to do in F1 if you didn't know... Design and build a fast car.

If only Honda had committed to staying with F1 earlier.
Name a more iconic duo...
But in all seriousness, if Honda were to actually long term commit for once in their existance, having McLaren be their works team would be pretty nifty. As long as they don't revert to making hand grenades instead of engines again, that is.
Sadly they've not been making decent chassis and overall design for some time.
By that, I mean one that the drivers really say, this is absolutely right on the money to drive.
Notice that the field split in Aus was 102.08% (think that's correct) on fastest pace. That's really tight and punishing for any drop back in terms of finishing positions.
