Nothing wrong with Max’s car. Perfectly legal.

Well, he was crazy AF, but he indeed did create the whole thing ..
Probably no longer political correct these days, but I miss that guy from the day the Big Moustache took office ...

Bernie may have put himself over as a div, but there are few smarter (who else do you know who made a few mil from getting duffed up in a robbery?) but as he said, his job was not to look after F1, but to get the best returns of the company. He knew there is no bad publicity so made himself the dummy.

Times changed when he was put in charge, and they have changed again. He was a man of the time, and for all the good he did for the company, I was glad to see him go.

It's interesting to note the specific details which were being inspected and noted by the FIA. You can see that some of the other teams have begun the fishing expedition...

It also makes no sense to apply a random seleection procedure, only to the top 10 cars. Any car that races on that day should be part of the random selection process. Cars outside the top 10 may not score points, but WCC positions are still decided by the running orders, even where no points are awarded and as a tie breaker.

Yeah, definitely seems a odd one to randomly check.

Weren’t they also checked in testing aswell at the start of the era?

If the PU are frozen, what is the solution to 2024 which will likely have even more GPs and sprint races.
Esport qualifying. The greenest solution of all

The random check isn't a fishing expedition. It is by definition, random.

What is fishing territory is the fact that only the suspension system was reviewed in more detail. Considering all of the whispers about trick/illegal suspension on RB...

I'm not sure something has to be read into every single thing. It is possible it was genuinely a random check and suspension was something on the list of things to check in the season.

Exactly this.

It's part of the process and not some grand conspiracy. Apersions based on ...nothing. It just leads to conflict and antagonising posts.
The Race even did a write up on it if anyone fancies reading it.
Key takeaways:
The draw for the car to be checked is random. As Tombazis put it “we will pull numbers out of a hat tomorrow after the race”.As stripping down the entire car is a lengthy process, the FIA has come up with 20 different areas that can be checked. According to Tombazis, “two or three” of these aspects will be focused on each time – although this could be increased in the future.

I never said the inspection wasn't random.

Might be one of those weekends where you just have to sacrifice all the nonsense and just rock up for the main event on Sunday. Never had so many recordings of sessions being pencilled in on my sky planner for this weekend. Ridiculous.

They should do what we all want.

Make the sprint event a kart event. One supplier of all the karts. Random hat drawn car number choice and that car is used for the entire karting event— which is one day.

Quali immediately after hat choice. Hop in the car and drive it. Drive till tank is empty. Fastest driver starts first, second starts second, and on down the line.

One team readies all cars and makes final adjustments, if any, for the driver. Done.

20 - 25 lap race an hour later.

Multi-million dollar prize purse for drivers only. They take all money’s won.

It could be it’s own championship. I’d actually respect that championship more than the current F1 drivers championship. How sad is that. 🤦‍♂️

Rape?
Strong word. Last time i checked rape is taking by force and leaving the victim indignified and mentally and sometimes physically damaged. The sport is the healthiest it has ever been actually.

F1 nearly perfect?
Maybe when viewed through your rose tinted glasses. For me there is always room for change.
