No need to temper expectations because there were none, atleast for Baku there weren't. We knew some time ago that Baku would have no significant changes outside of track specific updates.

"...optimizing setups is a big smoke screen it seems." What do you want them to say, that is probably exactly what they were doing in the sim. Nobody is expecting them to get on terms with Red Bull by only 'optimizing setups'. To me it seems you've misinterpreted words somewhere down the line.
