Nah, he was faster than Hamilton in every sector, most drivers got a tow as well, Hamilton included.

4. George Russell [Mercedes] - +0.555

Sainz will retake 4th spot pretty easy with that Ferrari engine down the straight.
Hope merc can take 5th/6th if nothing happens to the competition. Would be a decent haul of points given the dog of a car they are driving.

Hamilton has been nibbling at the ferrari all weekend. Let's hope for a fortuitous race. But with the AM drs issues I think 5th and 6th is the best we can hope for.

Russell is a bit like Jenson Button when it comes to luck. But I sense a shift in the order between him and Hamilton. Hamilton is gonna gel better with the car, as usual, as we go into the European leg.

Man, sooo dull. Updates can't come soon enough...

Whining Verstappen (as usual) cannot have it what he does to others being done to him. Just typical. Well done Russel =D>

Lewis caught napping

No, Russell has been the faster driver, it's just that he made a mistake in Q3 on his final run, order was resumed in the sprint shootout.
Ok sir i get it...when hamilton does something it's luck and when Russell does something it's pure skill. Just saying that both mercs were anomalies in their respective performances. Expect hamilton to finish 6th tomorrow with Russell behind him. Alonso will have both of them in the race.

It seems no one was really hanging it out here. It's a risk damaging the car for the race tomorrow. I'm sure we will see more proper racing tomorrow. Either way...the mercs are dogs...lol

Lewis was caught in a deep slumber at the start...but both merc guys are driving the wheels off this car no doubt about it. It's a pity that Mercedes have the strongest drivers but with a mediocre car

Amazing performance from Russell, putting the car above and beyond of where it belongs.

Still hoping that the imola spec car will be a decent step forward. If not then yeah 23’ will continue to be painful.

I wouldn't count on it, wasn't Wolff talking about a 3tenths worth upgrade for Imola?
The fact is that the car is a dog from the core, and they can't change the core.
They also haven't understood their 2022 problems, otherwise this car wouldn't be another dog. So I'm not very optimistic for '24 either.

Yes, that is a bit of an issue for tomorrow. For Ham it can only go backwards, the longrun pace was much worse to Alo. Norris is well prepared with saving a set of tires and in case Stroll stays off the walls he is also a thread.
