The young guy has a drive at Merc. It’s on him not to qualify 11th.

What do you want, Toto to put brakes on Lewis?

What's he going to do about it, tweak the front wing? Disappointing from him and his engineers yet again.
Hamilton might not know that you can't change the cars due to parc ferme.

He was something like 1-1.5 seconds off the front running pace. There is no setup in the world that's going to do anything about that.
No excuses, he's starting to decline, I think this will be his final year, let a youngster have a go.
Why can't you support your favorite driver without talking crap about the "other driver"? Your so called favorite is still getting smoked by a driver which has passed his prime as per you.
We need a miracle. We need only one racing lap.

Lol. Hamilton again losing out from a safety car decided he was not going to be denied today, blows past the back markers, George and Stroll and puts pressure on a faster Ferrari until the end. Great race, great pace. Just the car is too slow atm. But it’s clear the old dog still has it. Haters in ruins.

Bang on. He’s still got it in spades, car let him down today.

Shocking stint on the mediums but more than made up for it on the hards, frustrating that he couldn't get Sainz but brilliant in the end.

That car is a snail down the straight. Everyone else managed a overtake in DRS but the merc Vs a Ferrari with no DRS wasn’t good to see for Merc fans

Hamilton gained a massive zero points on Russell, the car is like a milk float down the straights.

But I thought only Russell could pull the car above and beyond where it belongs?

Jokes aside, this formula clearly "brackets" in the cars too much. The driver can't really make up for the performance deficit through set up or other means. Cars so heavy that they are too mechanically dictated. (working the "softer parts" like steering, brakes and tyres have a smaller influence)

That was the best safety car restart I've ever seen from Hamilton, he's usually one of the worst on the grid. I think those few laps he had on the hards helped him fire up the hards. I expected him to eat up those tyres and he didn't, great second half of the race.

Sainz's consistent slow pace ruining Hamilton's race as usual. Frustrating! If Mercedes can find a tenth on Ferrari, Hamilton and Russel will leave Sainz behind. The guy's pace is shockingly slow.

I see it the other way around. Russell is the one who is behind (PU failure assisted) but another race went by where he didn't gain anything on Hamilton over the weekend. Russell has to actually outscore Hamilton to overturn the deficit. Finishing in a draw every weekend from here on out would just favor Hamilton's existing lead.

On the other side, he qualified 6 places higher and ended up with nothing to show for it because of a poor sprint race.

Nevertheless, it was nice to see some fire there.

The DRS is just too weak. No punch and no defense.

Hope this is accurate. If so...the Mercedes car is a ships sail at the moment. It's hitting 340kph but cannot pass anything when out of a slip stream. Maybe too slow to even have deg?

I think Mercedes is losing time to engine derating.
