Last year in Miami there was a lot of criticism from the drivers, especially about the chicane in the tight second sector and the lack of grip.

The organization has tried to tackle the latter by providing the entire circuit around the Hard Rock Stadium with new asphalt. #F1

In Turkey, the track had not been driven before the GP weekend. This time it has been driven by street cars.

I always wondered when they calendar extended to beyond 20 races, why races are not spread out to more of the year.

Places that have hot summers, makes no sense to have races during the summer months like in Miami. This race could have easily been shifted to January or February.

And why is this race at 3.30 in the afternoon, why cant they start at noon like most others?

Probably due to Sunday evening prime time in Europe, which is their biggest audience.

Prime time for UK maybe. For me in south-east Europe, qualy is at midnight and race at 23:30 Sunday night. It will be Monday when race is over.

In future proceedings, the parties are poised to continue jousting over whether Formula 1 races at the stadium run afoul of the city and county's own noise regulations. While the Miami Gardens residents claim the races plainly violate the regulations, the defendants say a stadium zoning ordinance approved by the city and county in 2017 takes precedence because it specifically authorizes auto racing at the Hard Rock facility.

Ha! I live on the west coast of the US and the Las Vegas GP, which is in my time zone, starts at 22:00 local for me and 1:00 am on the east coast. I suspect they don't want to disturb the gamblers and are hoping to get some European viewing, although that race time is 6:00 London time. Seems like no one will be happy..... Of course, Liberty is running this race for themselves and won't have to pay $30 million (or whatever) for the race; seems finances really are manipulating this sport. We're doomed.

Setting up a street track is not cheap, but still either those ticket prices, there is money to be made.

Since this is money from promotion of an event, wonder how revenue will be shared with the teams, as they are not entitled to ticket sales.

Of course, Liberty is running this race for themselves and won't have to pay $30 million (or whatever) for the race; seems finances really are manipulating this sport. We're doomed.

This is OT, but Liberty also has a 33% stake in Livenation who are doing all the event promotion for Las Vegas, and Livenation owns Ticketmaster, who I believe sell all the tickets for the GP and live events. Liberty is making money on every level.

Though this is no different from Bernie buying a substantial amount of flight seats/cargo space before release the F1 calendar.
