Lando just said they knew it would be hard to get out of Q1 so he isn't surprised.

Weren't they supposed to bring a big update to Baku that would fix the car?
They did, and it worked. But I don't think anyone said it would fix the car. But that it would start to fix the car. And they qualified in top 10 with both cars.
So explain to me which monkey they let screw with the cars this weekend to produce this utter mess

No idea what happened. It was looking good yesterday. Maybe they tried to push on something for more straight-line speed, and it hasn't worked. Could be anything.
The update didn't supposed to fix the car,the update was to bring the car to what was the start of the season car,so 2 moth of developing more.
Nobody is saying it was supposed to fix the car, however being 5th fastest in Baku to 9-10 fastest in Miami is not purely circuit specific. Something significant went wrong within the team overnight
Literally in the chain of comments you are replying to.

We are talking here, get mad, talk about a history that McLaren made in F1 etc etc...and what will happend? Zak and Andrea will come with the same bullshit "point are given tomorrow", "we'll keep pushing", "next race will be better" and all this PR non-sense.
I am a McLaren fan for more than 25 years...but I would truly love to see Lando moving to a Top team, to win races and championships. He deserv better than what McLaren is now...a misery. 🤨💲
You, I and everyone else has on here who takes this team seriously should completely agree with this. Nobody should accept these answers anymore from zak and Andrea, they seems to just be buying time for themselves every weekend.

I recommend, for anyone wanting to see a papaya team not completely and utterly ruin the career of a up and coming talent. Watch the AMSP indycar Team. They seems to understand setup, balance and team development far better than McLarens F1 Team can currently

He can join Russell, Leclerc, and the rest looking for a car to win xhampionships, as it only looks like one that can at present.

All I can say is I hope for Mclaren to get their --- together and find a way to close that 1 second gap from Red Bull if they want to keep Lando Norris cause Norris will be here until 2025. The team can't afford to lose the best driver of this new generation.

As a post before said losing that much speed overnight is simply unnaceptable for a team who says that they target to be fighting for wins till 2025.

If Lando goes he goes.

I'm a McLaren fan not a Lando fan.

At least our drivers don't crash all that often.

Obviously something went erong with the setup. We could hardly improve by today which is quite nonsense.

Well duh everyone here is a Mclaren fan but still the team cannot afford to lose that good of a driver.

On another note Verstappen got owned by pure luck.

Why even change the set up if you were best of the rest yesterday? It was working and obviously it made it worse today.

Change it because they thought they could improve it. Obviously.

Yes, we can. We lost good drivers many times before.

If a driver doesn't want to be with them, he can go. I like him, but he has to wait. RB when Sergio goes, unless they go for a junior as second driver. Merc when Lewis goes maybe. Or ferrari if Charles goes to Merc.

Lando said they were only best of the rest yesterday because they basically gave it everything in p2. The car hasn't got worse overnight, just everyone else has turned the wick up

Then James Key, Andreas Seidl and the team he made all these two years haven't produced anything these last two years and the update produced nothing.
