Great stuff from Charles, amazing speed vs Sainz at Sainz' best track this year. What an improvement in T4-T6 section since practices, keeping flying RB19 more than honest 8) What a lap it would have been, too bad he's so unlucky with crashes. Max made the same error and drove away - and people think luck has nothing to do with it

Easy podium for Charles with the right H-S(M) strategy tomorrow 8) Lets see if Vassuer holds his word and gives the right strategy to the better driver 8)

Don’t know if you are being sarcastic about Charles. He crashed twice in the same corner. Hope he can do 50+ laps tomorrow. I hope he just overtakes Sainz on track and not wait for team orders or anything. And hope hope he steers clear of enthusiastic russel at the start.
Overtaking in this track will require a massive delta due to the reduced DRS zone and higher dirty air than last year. Possibly over 0.5s per lap. It's not gonna happen.

What a shame. Sadly, this is the downside of being on the edge in qualifying. But this driving style is which leads to those amazing laps and it’s also why Charles is the best qualifier on the grid.

Anyway, any pictures from the recovery of the car?

I get that but when he even admitted that they have absolutely nothing for RB tomorrow, he has to start driving for the sake of the team. Ferrari are 4th in the WCC. He needs to think about how to make sure he's not compromising his races as well as eating into Ferrari's development budget due to crash damage.

What I would say is why push so damn hard when you don’t have the race pace to stay p1 anyway. Would be better off giving up a tenth but keeping the car in one piece and ending up on the second row than ending up on the fourth and potentially an expensive rebuild
That’s WHY he has to push. If you have the same pace as Aston/Merc/Alpine etc, you need to start ahead of them. If you start ahead, you stay ahead. If you start behind, you stay behind.

Obviously, I don’t like the crashes, but I do prefer his driving style. Would you rather have a driver pushing to be in the front, or a driver satisfied with fourth or fifth Place?

Best qualifier on the grid? 🤥

Doesn't Hamilton have like 100 poles? I can't remember the last time he binned a car either...

An amazing effort to achieve this, just 2kmh down on RB19 on back straight! Too bad suspension is still lacking a bit, the aero on this car is on par with Red Bull!

And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Is there any reason why you aren't using Verstappen's Q2 lap on used tires?

Season is washed anyway. Lets push car to max. I like attitude.

Leclerc's statements are quite concerning. He said the setup was very tricky but he put himself in that position because he thought he would have been able to manage it. The fact that he needs to go for very aggressive setups in order to quick yikes...

Anyway

Max lost the car on the corner or 2 before the one Charles did. No luck about it.

It’ll be a challenge for Charles to get pole tomorrow…. They want to hope that other things aren’t damaged like the gearbox, floor etc if they were running the new one on Charles car
Max lost it 2 times, one 2 corners before and one in the same corner as Charles because he went wide.

Here you can see the onboard slowed down and the comparison with Max. Leclerc tried to take more kerb in his second run, but the car didn't cope with it.

There is nothing to blame Ferrari or the car in this matter, Leclerc believes. "I wanted this set up, I knew it would be tricky but I thought I would be able to extract the maximum out of the car in Q3 which is one of my strong points. I know I am taking more risk than others in Q3 and that's why I'm doing good Q3s most of the time. Very disappointed with myself, I made the same mistake yesterday and this shouldn't happen."

Judging by his top speed he must have asked to shed some rear wing.

He must have figured that he could qualify well and then be impossible to overtake with the straight line speed. The issue now will be keeping the tires under him, while trying to get close enough to overtake the others.

3 DRS zones though. So plenty of opportunity.
