Maybe Honda can do the gearbox as well as engine. I think they might like that rather than full car again. But, I don't think there's ever been an engine and gearbox supplier. Is it too tied to suspension design or other elements of the car to be worth farming out? Just curious, I don't know much about it to be honest.
I thought the suppliers all had to use standardised mount/connection points to enable swaps?

They were doing it in the Bar Honda times. If I am not wrong they were the first who introduced seamless gearbox. I am quite sure that they were first to use it in motogp too. They are doing own seamless gb. I have knowledge only about honda seamless gearbox, xtrac one and ducati one. I prefer honda's gb between these 3 for racing.

I can't see how to +1 this article, but there is tons of good stuff here. I just use the translator in my web browser.

Excellent resource has been shared before I think.
Either way good reminder of Honda's work

Interesting stuff!

In this direction goes the news that, in a few hours it will be official, the Aston Martin from 2026 will be powered by Honda. The Japanese giant returns to the F1 Circus and does so as technical partner, and not only, of Lawrence Stroll's team, with a 5-year contract (2026-2030).

The return of the Japanese giant will not only help Aston Martin from a technical point of view, but also from a commercial point of view. In fact, Honda will invest in this project with the new Power Uniti tires and with a sponsorship from the Silverstone team, which will therefore be able to count on an important partner for its future.

Will it be the Aston Martin Honda F1 Team? :?:

It seems so strange!

Watanabe also said Honda – who will enter their fifth stint in F1 – have no plans to supply power units to “any other parties” other than Aston Martin from 2026 onwards.

Surely a customer supply elsewhere would be important to gather data? Be it Williams, McLaren etc?

it's great to have Honda continue with f1 but 2006 regulation very restrictive on what car manufactures can do even the batteries are spec.i understand they want attract new pu builders but they should embrace f1 challenge not drag it to their lower level. variable length intake trumpets is old tech why should it be banned ,everything that make today pu great is stripped away .they should have just took mguh because of cost and left everything.
