Photo Comparison Red Bull RB5-Toro Rosso STR4

Post

Red Bull RB5 and Toro Rosso STR4 shares the same chassis , but the different engines , Renault for RB5 and Ferrari for STR4 , and the slightly different evolution rate makes a photo comparison process interesting . We must also consider the fact that Adrian Newey is behind both cars .

Image

Differences
1.Engine cover . Shark fin which connects to the rear wing for RB5
2.Height sensor , only for RB5
3.Nose cone end hole , only for RB5

looks like the Ferrari lump allows for tighter packaging than the Renault.

That's not really an Isometric view...but I am a pedantic bastard.

You can see slight different in the air intake too.

isometric is impossible in a photo yes?

If my grade 10 drafting class from 1990 taught me anything, it was... um....

not much really.

Isometric is a perspective-less 3d drawing right? What is the 3 views called, where you have the top side and front? Is that plan view, or is just the top view plan view?

I have to read a lot of drawings for work, but never have to understand the actual drawing portion.

In an isometric view, the car's baselines should be drawn at 30 degree angles from what would be horizontal on-screen, with an elevated view looking down on whichever plane you would be viewing from above.

An example :

Whatever you should call that view (I'd label it "side") it certainly is anything but isometric ... I've not done any technical drawing in 13 years, but I still remember that much ;)

I never thought that a mistake of mine could cause more replies than the photo comparison or analysis pictures themselves ! That frustrates me , you know I never claimed to be the mr perfect guy

That Isometric view labeling distracted me too for some reason :P lol

But anyways, on with the comparison.
