It's a combination of 3 cars that won the triple crown.

McLaren West? Where?

It’s the Marlboro livery with the front of the car representing the Le Mans livery, the middle of the car the Monaco livery and the back of the car the Indy livery, all of it under the pattern of the Marlboro one

imo the locations of the sponsor stickers look to random and just thrown on to every available space. doesnt blend well with the livery

TBH, to me it looks like they are using up the scrag ends of aerosol cans. Just a mess.
Too many colours and no overall theme.

No overall theme? It's all a theme.

Be interesting to see who they have recruited and in what roles. Given the article says major appointment it would imply well known names surely?

It literally has only 3 colours and the theme is the Triple.

Well the theme is 'mess' then

Makes more sense than the last comment.

Absolutely stunning livery. So simple yet so effective. Will be a battle for the cameras between this and the Gulf Williams!

Edit: wonder if moving the black from the back to front changes the weight balance ever so slightly

McLaren is doing amazing this year at Indycar, and today they are currently 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 9th in the 500 qualy
Getting rid of Taylor Kiel coming into this year was a stunning, bold move, not unlike getting rid of James Key. Hope to see similar results in F1 soon

Agree, it doesn't look great to me. I like the Papaya but I don't think it pairs easily and in this case I don't think it works.

I agree, it was very surprising. Gavin Ward seems to run a tight ship though.

In other news, Marcus Erikson has been approached by McLaren (and Andretti), and they will most likely run 4 cars full season next year.

Monaco livery. I like it! Simple and bold!
This is very close to what I wish they would do, only that I wish the front portion was also papaya. That, I think would really combine the elements of their history in a coherent way.

You could even go one step further and shape the painted front part in the same shape as their swooshy logo (wing?) thing (which would also differentiate it from the Marlboro chevron ).
