Red Bull RB19

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

floor, what are the 2 squares
I think they might be the exterior surface of a heat sink?

Wow 3D surfaces on the underfloor so that is their secret, Perez gonna be in big trouble for exposing this so early in the season because teams will be lapping this up
Will they? It all depends if they can make it work within their concepts and what they’re doing with them.

You can’t take parts of this, parts of a Ferrari, parts of a Mercedes and make it all work together. Aero isn’t additive and has to work as an entire system.
Racing point showed it's possible to copy a car from photos (so we were told... ).

Up to today a lot of people were complaining that cars were not lifted much of the ground when removed. This RB19 for sure will hold the off-the-ground height record for the rest of the season.

And they were still not as fast as the the car they copied

Aero works as a system. You either copy the entire car (which other teams can’t) or you have to work on your own design. Putting Redbull’s floor on any of the other cars with no other changes isn’t going to work well.

I thought it was against the rules to have 3d pieces under the floor
If that wasn't the case why haven't teams played with that? It's the most logical thing to try

Even the one on the right? I don't see what is there too cool on the edge of the floor

Can you circle or point out these 3D pieces please?
Not sure where you’re meaning?

The beam wing on the RB doesn't look that aggressive for a "high downforce" specification.

That's their highest downforce beamwing they used in Bahrain at the start of the season
since then they used just a single element beamwing for every track

To my eyes, their carbon manufacturing is on another level, which makes all of what we see here possible?

Question regarding the metallic parts that are in the middle... they seem to be under the engine, so my question is, is is possible (legal it is, since it is there) that they are dissipating engine heat underneath the floor to somehow do some magic with airflow, airspeed or something else?
