By lap 6 PER was lapping almost 2 seconds faster than VER
both facing the wind (no one in front or close to it)
PER was on hard
VER was on yellow
PER top speed after the tunnel was 280 while VER was approx 260
during the whole race, PER was fastest by at least 10 km/hr than VER(at the end of the tunnel)
what do you think is the explanation?
VER sandbagging?
PER lose his wings?

The same thing was happening in 2021, I couldn't figure it out then and still can't figure it now. 20 km/h is massive difference, as if Ver wasn't using battery in tunnel, or used it just a little. Some were implying when I pointed this out that somehow Verstappen has more drag (20 km/h worth in monaco ) or short shifting or whatever (obviously both not the case).

Could it be their chosen best place to save the tyres, limiting downhill acceleration and slip? Other than some unreported underlying problem.

Ver knew from before the start that Alo was on hards. He needed to make his yellows last as long as Alo. Which could have been the penultimate lap if it hadn’t rained. So apparently going slowish in certain places keeps the tires alive longer. I am thinking something along those lines. Per just had one objective, go as fast as you can in the whites to be there when the other s pit stop, or even try to overtake.

This would have been quite controversial if he had managed to overtake Verstappen through the pit stops with a small margin.

Given the high chance of cars being craned off the track and exposing the underfloor....I have a simple solution and would stop people copying as easy.

Just cover the floor in the white and black swirls (like they do with new cars) which would make it much harder to copy. Alternatively, just paint it in Vantrablack paint, which absorbs 99.96% of light, so would also be extremely hard to work out details, especially from a photo. BMW did a vantrablack X6 and looks very hard to distinguish the lines and curves.

lets face it, im sure most the teams can afford a few grammes of paint at the lowest point of the car.
