Red Bull RB19

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Look at the "flare" on moushole entry rearward edge.

In effect a scoop to divert air feed into there, in photo/construct above image.

Final part in a mini-series on RB19 I posted, this time taking a deeper look at the underfloor, how things changed from last year and what are some completely unique features of the floor.

Is that the first time we have seen a small support stay on the RB too? In front of the mouse hole?

That has always been there to my knowledge.

Yep your right. Very hard to spot in previous photos. Scrolled back to Baku and seen it. Only just visible in the Miami pics on this thread.

That floor edge is so much a design that only an intelligent and creative human could have designed and NOT any CFD optimization. Look at how the wing is actually rotated along it's curvature like a mobius. Whats the upside of the foil on the front is down on the rear part. The twisted and sculpted the wing and floor to get many interacting edges and surfaces. Applause!

This openings makes me think. If, I mean If Newey has found his way to make this as the side inlet to the floor...?
Isn't the air going in under the floor at this very opening?
How does it work... Down wash from the above the wing slips down in vortices due the speed differences between the flow above the floor and under the floor...?
