Would a narrow gulley like this serve a similar purpose to the previous bath tubs, but perhaps in a more controlled manner therefore creating a more stable aero platform? Or is this a completely different concept?

Is the lil cockpit winglet (just above the mirror mount in this image) trying to upwash the the air exiting the s-duct to stop it from spilling into the gulley. My aero knowledge is extremely limited so please be gentle.

Perhaps this is something in between the RB sliding sidepod and the Ferrari bathtub...?
The outer part is larger and seems to be flatter and sloping down, while there is the smaller channel in the inside.

Nice catch, seems like some interaction is intended. Maybe a bit more towards vortex generation than clear-cut upwash. We'll need to see the whole thing from multiple angles before we have a clear picture, the internal cooling flows are very different now and most likely oversized for safety.

Sides are more like AMR/Alpine than RB, so basically Ferrari doing the AMR/Alpine interpretation of Ferrari/RB crossover design :mrgreen:

The thing that strikes the most are completely different floor edges, looking like RB18 ones. We can assume wide walls are absolutely critical to extract the maximum from this edge treatment, seeing how much attention RB paid to flow vis in this area. Vasseur says the car concept didn't change, so can we assume they retained their typical low Venturi floor profile? Judging by the top of the floor in the middle, it still looks very low and similar to the old-spec floor.

Also, from this Fabrega's comparison, it really doesn't look like the flow change towards the initial top part of the sidepod is too big, leading again towards the same conclusion of Vasseur's comments in keeping the same concept, along the fact the inlet itself stayed the same...

I just don't see how this is a copy of anything. It's a resculpt of their concept. Nothing shocking or gamechanging.

This solution looks a lot like B194, B195 or F399. There, it served to improve the flow to the rear wing and the beamwing, which in turn allowed the diffuser to work better.
