Max wasn’t bothered about fastest lap. He told GP that on the radio. Best option was to take the extra point off Lewis.

Alonso managed his race perfectly. Let Lewis sniff the position and then open the taps back up and increase the gap.

Very sneaky of Red Bull giving Max a chance to get FL then when they realized he couldn't do it they bring Perez at the last possible opportunity to take it, yeah I saw that one.
Nonsense, if they boxed Perez earlier Ferrari would box Sainz and would lose FL.
It's such a simple logic for anyone to understand.

Weird strategy by Aston giving Alonso hards at the end.
From watching his onboards, the Hard tire had a better balance than the medium for his car. The opposite was the case for RB. They couldn't get tire temp in the hard tire and Max was struggling on them, no grip. That's why RB went back to the medium. It was very cold today. RB is too light on the tire.

Does Alonso's shunt in the starting phase of the race cause his rear brake issues later?
Quite possibly, similar to Russell's issue but obviously a lot less severe

Imagine every race a 3 way fight between these 3.

The way things looked today, if Williams next update is as good as they think, Williams could be on their heels too
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Pretty sure Alonso took Max's elbow to the side of his head on the podium

Dont think you can? Only young drivers.

But nobody has done a young driver FP1 yet either.

You can have anyone you like in your car at any time. It's only required that you ALSO run a young driver at some point.

it was a comfortable win for Verstappen, but it actually seems like they've lost a bit of ground the past couple of races. We could still see some other winners in the 2nd half of the season.

Great run by Albon indeed, btw. They would have probably scored a point or two on a normal strategy as well, but went for more, and he made it work.

That would ruffle feathers putting Danny in the car in place of Checo.

Its a BIG BIG BIG thing to do, and would certainly drop Perez confidence. But its a sport where cut-throat decisions need to be made so could be best off overall.
I guess the team know exactly if Perez pace is truly off or down to car setup etc. But you have the fastest car a good 1/2 second faster than anyone else in the hands of Max on race pace alone, then Perez dropping back to a (equal)3rd pace car of Ferrari.

Lets not forget that Perez also has a year and a half on his contract, so I cant see him being dropped this season, but might be something said for next year - but would need to be bought out the contract.
