fastest F1 car.
As well as setting the world’s first official land speed record for a F1 car, the speed achieved also represented a new mark for the A2-8 class of land speed vehicles, and a new best speed of 355.499kph for the flying kilometre.
I was in error. I did a further check on the official FIA website and the record was set on 20.07.06 by Honda, but the speed was 397.483 kph.

The original question to this post is "The fastest F1 car of all time?". Not quickest, or braked had the highest cornering G's, or was the most dominant. Just speed.
straight line speed is not a fair test. no F1 car is ever configured for pure straight line speed - the Italian GP would prob be the closet thing to that.
if honda holds the record it is only because they bothered to go to a desert an see what happens.
had the other teams done it there is no chance that honda would still hold the record.
I agree 100% bjpower. But Honda did make the effort and did secure the record for their class. They hold the official sanctioned record, and if another team wishes to beat this record, I am sure they can. But if you don't recognize official records, then what worth are they?
Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.
