the only times that he and alonso have done much racing on track, there has been contact.
In Baku and Spain there was none because in both those situations they decided it wasn't worth the risk overtaking. They are the more recent ones.

Being a long-time follower of this team; really sadden to hear the news of the passing of Bob Fernley. One of the best TP this team ever had.
In Force India outfit; he & Vijay gave a few glorious moments to fans like me. I was hoping Lawrence to rope him back with the team; F1 will miss him.

Did alonso intentionally make lance look good today or he has lost bit of edge in wet ?

Alonso was paying debt to Stroll….he is smart enough to loose a battle to win war.
Same courtesy won’t be executed in race tomorrow.
Alonso could have catches Carlos

I would like to visualize the sprint scenario where Alonso pits for slicks like Russell or 1lap earlier

IMO Stroll deserves it. He's been a model team player so far. Almost like Ocon... Alonso has been in the spotlight since the beginning while Stroll got pressured to show he deserves the drive. Not used to this gestures but if Alonso had a chance at the Championship I don't know what would have happened. But right now...love is in the air!!!

Why? Russell rolled the dice with not having to gamble anything.

Alonso has to qualify ahead, like 2-3 tenths ahead of Stroll consistently which in this bunched up field will be 2-3-4 places & enough to create a gap in the race. Otherwise he will be stuck behind Stroll. Tough to push too much when Lawrence is the team owner & Alonso had bad blood everywhere from Ferrari to Mclaren to Alpine !

Yeah, but if Hulk had pitted a bit earlier (he was a bit late) he would have passed both Astons

But Aston makes terrible strategies, they are not at the level, etc.... Irony aside, the decision to stay in the inters was perfect and great job from both of them.

What those three teams have in common is being consistent failures in providing a great car for their drivers, it's not his fault. If Lewis had stayed for McHonda (which is a realistic possibility) I'd bet money he wouldn't have lasted for the whole 2015 season driving for a backmarker car who broke down every race, both slow and unreliable, let alone 4 years in the team working very hard despite the adversities and lack of power while you are forced to watch your old rivals win. Vettel certainly didn't last and broke down after driving two years of bad Astons despite being younger than Fernando. But sure, even though coming from a working class family of miners, I'm sure he's just an entitled diva and that's all there is to it.

If Alonso manages to pass Lance & Nando early ; we will be able to see good battle between Charles, Lewis & Alonso.
