The whole thing is a mess.

Retrospectively punishing because they didn't deal with it in time is a bit rubbish.

It's difficult yo do anything on track due to safety and cost for the circuit. Its difficult for the FIA to automate as the tracks would need huge investment in technology.

Sensors in the tyres and in the track itself would work I guess. Or overhead cameras like that used in goal line technology. Get AWS to sponsor it!

Lando will get p4 as a result of an additional 10s penalty for Sainz. McLaren owe AMR a couple of beers.

Nice, another 2 points and I'm sure some banter coming Sainz' way from Lando on WhatsApp this evening...

Norris doubling his points total with the 12 he'll get from this P4, can't complain about that at all!

I think Oscar will be a very good driver. But, a bit of me would like to have seen Alex Palou in the car. He really is very good.
He is a very good driver… Staring from the back, you can always get in trouble… The incident wasn’t his fault and having to stop for a front wing change killed his race
Not being critical of him. Just really think Palou is a great driver, and would have been good in the team( not that Oscar isn't a good pick)
I agree that Palou is an exciting driver… Hard to judge him against Piastri though, who might be better between the 2 is a big unknown… But Piastri is a solid driver, i haven’t seeing anything that would warrant a change

Happy Lando’s 4th… but not happy about the situation

These penalties are a farce

The penalties themselves are fine. Drivers should be able to stay on the track if they want to not be penalised. However, there needs to be systems and personnel available to the stewards/FIA so they can deal with everything during the race. Having no final classification until five hours post-race is silly and at the very least borderline farcical.

Personally I find all that a farce. Just put some grass so drivers could drive differently. Still Norris gained a position so a good 4th place.

Yes agreed, I did mean ‘post-race penalties’ and not the track limit infringements themselves, however, we don’t see this at other tracks, so clearly there must be a better solution here than handing out penalties left, right & centre

And as Lando said, staying within track limits is easy, until you have someone pressing you hard. This shows, as the penalties are for those who were being chased, not the ones doing the chasing

Very good performance from Lando. So What updates will come in Silverstone? Nothing new, just Piastri will get the new package?

I think wings were planned for Silverstone. Whether that means front wing or rear wing or both, I am not sure.
