I really hope so, the current livery is the worst ever
Yeah, at first I didn't care for it. I thought it was too much black. However, I like it better straight on.
The "Triple crown" look isn't that bad either. It grew on me. I thought the Orange wasn't prominent enough though.

The one thing I hate is the pit crew's Helmets. They look like extras in a Mel Brooks movie. They look goofy with those light blue helmets.

Really good performance from Lando and the team. Without the upgrades, i think we would have been in that train fighting with Albon, Ocon, Haas etc. I also think the colder weather played to our strengths a bit this weekend and worked against Merc and AM who were a bit further away from RBR. Silverstone will be a good test for us - if we can challenge Ferrari, Merc and AM again, it will be a good sign.

Is the step forward purely down to the personnel change (i.e., Peter Prod being given free reign) or has the new wind tunnel maybe been used to develop these new bits in secret?

Great race by NOR, he showed once again that Austria is his favorite track (or at least he is best at). PIA misjudged that braking point, broke his FW and his race was over basically.
Its too early to call if the updates work, as this track was always suitable for our package (Andrea's words) but I'm existed. :):)

Yeah, I really hope they drop this livery after this season. I'm also not a fan of the charcoal race suits.

Mclaren has an advantage towards Merc and AMR,they build there own gear box and casing and that is also a weaknes of Mercedes not only the PU that is having like 15Hp deficit towards Ferrari and 22 Hp deficit towards Honda, the only beat Renault by 5Hp.
They do not have a 22hp deficit. Estimates put them around 10-15hp behind.

Livery isn’t too bad for me albeit could be better.

Race suits however I don’t understand the charcoal grey? Why did they change from the blue and orange of 21?

I can only assume it's because the car is now majority bare carbon fibre, but yeah the '19-'21 race suits were much better looking.

Mclaren teasing a possible chrome livery this weekend.

https://imgbb.com/

If this car was both fast and chrome, I would be so happy.

What? I'm quite sure this is not the case. The deficit was due to a faulty fuel pump design and all Mercedes engines were operated in lean mode in the first 4 races of LAST season. There is less than 1% difference (below 10hp) between all 4 engines currently.

Front wing, maybe nose cone.
They said every Aerodynamic surface, so everything apart from what came this weekend!

One would assume that the Front wing, nose cone is part of that, but what I'm curious about is if there another rear wing.

The new Rear wing and Beam wing at Canada was not labelled as track specific, it was a new Rear and Beam wing that were more efficient (So it said in the FIA upgrade doc), so it seemed like a new part, wasn't sure if it was really the first part of the upgrades or not. We will see.

What are the reported Peak BHP output of these engines now?

I say Peak because these engines are so complex that with their Power Curves and the electrical harvesting, you can have a peak of X whereas Team B has a Peak of X-15, but they can sustain the peak for much longer, then Team B have the better setup.

Great pace from Lando with these upgrades. Wonder how much the altitude and lower drag helped too. Will be interesting to see how we go in Silverstone. 25% more upgrades and rest in Hungary.

It's ridiculous anyone criticising Piastri, he had some horrid luck this weekend. Getting blocked by Leclerc in qualli, and then having stroll miss the apex in t3 and park in front causing Oscar to damage his front wing. He was flying in the sprint on softs reminding us what he can do. Also keeping his nose clean with no off track penalties in the race unlike DeVries and co.
What I would say is that the altitude didn’t save us from being very ordinary at Austria last year so I have a good confidence that our upgrade (this first part) has made a clear step forward, so very good news looking ahead one would hope :)
Yeah looks promising so certainly hope its just all due the upgrades. 😁

Modern F1 engines produce 840/50 HP (the old fashion way) + 160 HP from the MGU-K (capped at this number) driving the number
to a total of 1000 hp.

1% is 10 hp, and as per GPS data available, f1 teams say and F1 officials say the difference is less than 1%.

I knew we'd hit 1000hp a few years back when the Renault reportedly got their first in 2019 in Qualifying trim, but I assumed we'd exceeded that already.

Where do y'all get information like this?... I am not questioning, I am genuinely curious to learn more about it.

Thanks
