Maybe it's just that we are tired of reading bullsh*t in a F1 Forum, have you ever thought about that?
As I've said before, this site used to be way better, an all technical site.

Things change... not always for the better.
"I've already altered the deal, pray I don't alter it any further" -Darth Vader to Lando Calrissian. The Empire Strikes Back.
"Progress is not always made by reasonable men." (McLaren Racing).
"We have optimised the lateral optical interface of the building." (Translation: "My factory has a lot of windows.") Ron Dennis.-

The new Jacko was said to be several tenths quicker disrobing than previous versions.

Nice joke!

I've always wonder why to grieve people that's pretty much useless...
I sure don't do it!
Why don't both of you just ignore this topic? If you have no respect to MJ at least show some respect to your fellow forumers.

Offtopic subforum is for everything that has nothing to do with racing i.e. CF mugs, airshow pics, hockey... hell there's even a NASCAR related thread on page 4!

PS: just for the record, I'm not in grief either. A - I'm not a fan of his and never was. B - MJ as 'the king of pop' was gone quite awhile ago, IMO.

Not-so-random admission: When I was a kid in the mid-80s, I had a Michael Jackson jacket. The red one (a sort of fate?) from the Thriller video.

Well Giblet, see, death is the way life ends. Is natural as life itself. Death is harsh? People is harsh? LIFE IS HARSH!
Death is good in any way if you use to believe life and humanity inside an upward spiral, even when it affects yourself, or when the death is not fair like in a childs death. Yes. But we really dont know why and what for are we living so, in my case, I end thinking that something wants me here to suck experience, transmit it and die. If my experience is seeing a "not fair" death occuring before my eyes... the so be it! Then move on!

I can tell you about the example of an actor who died here, last week: the guy was transgression itself. He didnt like people calling him homosexual: he preferred to be called f*cking fag! He had cancer and HIV and he joked about his own death all the time. In the radio show of one of his best friends, after his death, everyone were joking about this guy (as he would have liked to) saying that it would be nice to smoke his ashes after cremation. That was at 5 oclock in a popular radio show. Harsh?

Ever heard of Bob Flanagan (supermasochist)???

He was supposed to die at an early age, due to having cystic fibrosis, however survived and dedicated his life to the pursuit of sado masochism & made a living out of his stage shows ...

Anyway, to get to the point, he regularly made jokes out of his own impending demise, to the point where he'd get up on stage and sing a song to the tune of "Supercalafragalisticexpealadocious" (from Mary Poppins) called "Super Sadomasochistic Bob Has Cystic Fibrosis" that focussed primarily upon the fact that he was soon going to die.

Death is a fact of life & is frequently made into a joke, particularly under circumstances where the discussion of mortality is not entirely welcome.

It happens : we all need to deal with it.

I don't mind the thought of people making a joke out of my death ... after all, it's not going to kill me!

Nice! I had ninja turtle pyjama's and a 'Convoy' bedspread with pictures of trucks on it, and out of the trucks came speech bubbles saying things like 'that's a big 10-4 good buddy'

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. It's funny because it's true.

On one hand gcdugas post was a technically great joke, well written, concise, to the point, and I understand that you, sebe, don't feel the need to grieve.

I just literally can't understand how a human being can find the death of another human being funny at all. Even a positive death, to an evil doer of some kind in history, was not funny.

Anyways, it's a nice day, and I need to get away from the negatvitiy of the internets for a few hours.

I'm walking down the road to the beach.

I admit my joke was a bit insensitive but it was comparing the countless iterations of Jacko with the technical development of an F1 car during the season, especially the new noses and white livery. If you want to be sensitive why not pick a more worthy object to mourn properly? I speak of the death of Farrah Fawcett babe extraordinaire

I'm SO glad you went with the classic sci-fi option, rather than Charlie's Angels ...

Yeah, come on Giblet, don't worry too much, loads of people are going to be harsh, if Jacko had been able to cope with that a bit better he might still be here today. Don't go the same way man!!! :wtf:

Jacko says 'Harden up'.

It was whoever edited the Youtube clip who did that. Someone within the AP.

The walk did me good. I understand life is harsh, and can be difficult. but I knew that before.

I don't need to be pandered to about harshness, as that is not what I was focusing on.

I was trying to understand why some people find death funny, what drives them to make a joke so quick about something. People are different. No biggie.

.... on a lighter note.... I went a different route and instead of going to the beach, I walked up Broadway to do some banking, and I took this photo.

Here is some all around misery/irony even I can find funny.
