Good work from Piastri, given VER, NOR and HAM got to pit under safety car.

Who had McLaren the second best team coming out of the first race?
Not me. What's the explanation? This race might put them past Alpine for 5th in the WCC.

Unbelievable from McLaren. Should've been a 2-3 but that is special to get a 2-4 after being one of the worst cars at the start of the year

Maybe they didn't have that bad of a foundation? Mercedes are always talking that they have a foundational issue with this car preventing development. Think the rest of the grid should count themselves lucky that McLaren have only just turned up.

Edit: other than RB of course

Only tuned in during safety car. Was the rest of the race as boring?

Congratulations Max and RB, even bigger congratulations to McLaren, shame that Piastri isn't on the podium and only lost it due to the SC

Ferrari poor tire deg strikes again, that's what cost them today, that put them out of sync with the leaders and they lost out on the free stop.

AND then they had to go hard so we're on the defensive at the restart.

Very much looked like McLaren were faster than Mercedes in all right places to counteract the tyre advantage.

Oh.

These new regs are weird. Races that usually yield excitement seem to be not doing that anymore.

What a drive by Russell there! He took those softs longer than anyone expected with some outstanding pace. He almost made it on podium if not for that SC. Good job!

Another boring race, until Red Bull have actual competition every race will continue to be boring. Others are definitely getting closer though so it's coming.
