Update doesn't look like it's doing much, probably the worst car has looked all season. Coincidence?
Tyre temps are having a BIG problem this weekend so far.

But that's the same for everyone, and so far RB has been a car that struggled to get heat into them compared to others.

True true. Different compounds now so I guess the team(s) are still learning. We'll see in 2 hours where things stand.

I guess it might also be a bit of a 'bad' track for the car too? Each car has its strong points and weaknesses.

One of the key things is Checo is there alongside Max, which is reassuring given yesterday. He needs to keep on Max's heels if he wants to keep his role in the team.

This usually means Max doesn't like the car, another unusual thing because car is oversteering which should suit him at least. Lots of contradictory things happening this weekend.

It could also be a bogey track for the car, but lets wait for quali, then we can say more.

Very exciting quali!

Car had the pace for pole. Probably by a tenth or so, maybe 2 tenths. Shapes up for a good Sunday regardless

More crucially the car doesn't seem as good on every compound in any condition as it was before Silverstone. Could be an effect of the new front tyres.

There's also the compounding factor of the upgrade. Perhaps they didn't get the RB19 working optimally, or maybe it was never going to like the track.

I still believe the race pace will be good and victory can be achieved, but seems tricky this weekend

Perez p9 #-o only 4 places above Ricciardo :D

Bring on the race

Yeah, seems a bit all over this weekend in terms of the setup. Doesn’t seem the normal smooth running that RB normally have.

Max said this was a bad day for setup with the RB.

He only suggested that low fuel balance was not ideal, but felt that they have a great race car. Leclerc had pole in Baku. Alonso nearly had pole in Monaco. I don't think its anything to read into. RB have been relatively weaker in qualifying since the start of 2022. Max said the upgrades worked and they are better in the races than qualifying.

Absolutely. Theres no real worry.

I did see them doing some long runs in FP3. Is there any data from that?

Neither Merc or McLaren did long run in the morning. Only Ferrari did and their times are included

Worst balance he's ever had ! ?
[Formula Passion] VER: The car was terrible. We suffered a lot in Q1 and Q2 and it's the worst balance I've ever had. I tried to correct something but the front was like on ice. Really inconsistent and difficult to make progress in qualifying

The race pace is mega though.

Max' FP3 medium long run was quicker than both HAM and NOR in FP2 w/ much less ideal conditions. Race will be better. McLarens were close but as mentioned in much better weather conditions.

I've already commented on the fact car looked out of kilter after fp3 and it seems like nothing changed from fp3 to quali, making me think new upgrade is giving them headaches, possibly new tyres as well.
Car might behave better on high fuel but I don't expect any miracle performances.
