So why not only have hard? They could get away with just 5 sets then.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑22 Jul 2023, 17:07Exactly. And the tyre allocation rule will reduce that which is bad for the spectators.Mogster wrote: ↑22 Jul 2023, 17:00People pay for race weekend tickets to see F1 cars on track not in the garages.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑22 Jul 2023, 16:37
It limits running in general. Max, Lewis and Lando have all spoken against it. Lando even said that if it hadn't rained, then people wouldn't have run much at all.
When are new drivers supposed to settle and develop if there’s so little running? There’s the sim but it’s hardly the same as real track time.
Probably lost half a tenth with the correction in that corner I would guess?Mogster wrote: ↑22 Jul 2023, 17:16Aye, when the rear was squirming around coming out of the last final I was convinced it wasn’t on.PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑22 Jul 2023, 17:06HAM had a bit of understeer in the penultimate corner too.
That dirty side of the grid at Hungary is a problem. Max off the line really needs to just focus on keeping Lando at bay. If he can do that, the RB race pace should work itself by the Merc, even if it takes the first pit stops.Tvetovnato wrote: ↑22 Jul 2023, 17:18McLaren is onto something great, what a turnaround they have made. Will be really interesting to see how the car handles the race in high temps. If they are in close to race winner Verstappen tomorrow, they might actually be on for a win on merit soon.
Well, 5 sets is even fewer tyres and they wouldn't run at all in one or two FP sessions meaning even less on-track action for the spectators.Big Tea wrote: ↑22 Jul 2023, 17:16So why not only have hard? New set of mediums for Norris could bring him into the mix for win maaaaybeJust_a_fan wrote: ↑22 Jul 2023, 17:27Got to say that Max is likely to win tomorrow and it's between Lewis and Lando fighting for P2. Lando has Piastri for company too which means McLaren can play strategy - something neither Max nor Lewis can do.
As much as I would love to believe it, Red Bull’s race pace is in another league…organic wrote: ↑22 Jul 2023, 17:28New set of mediums for Norris could bring him into the mix for win maaaaybeJust_a_fan wrote: ↑22 Jul 2023, 17:27Got to say that Max is likely to win tomorrow and it's between Lewis and Lando fighting for P2. True - tyres will be hugely important with the temperature likely tomorrow. Being able to keep a set together without losing some lap time will be key. Being a tenth faster but killing the tyres in 10 laps isn't helpful.organic wrote: ↑22 Jul 2023, 17:28New set of mediums for Norris could bring him into the mix for win maaaaybeJust_a_fan wrote: ↑22 Jul 2023, 17:27Got to say that Max is likely to win tomorrow and it's between Lewis and Lando fighting for P2.
