Hamilton did all he could. Max just had the better start and did it cleanly. In fact, hamilton should have gone for the wide approach of turn 1 after Max was there, then he could have countered Piastri. Now he lost the podium in 600 meter. They had a good car here. Maybe not so much on the hard tire, but otherwise yes. Now he had to sit out stint 1.
dont think he had a choice of line after max got alongside him.. he just ran ham out wide.
seems like the 2 years of merc lemons has dampened his agression. max would held it around the outside or applied more squeeze had the roles been reversed

seriously....WTF happened to HAM at the 2nd stint... went from 3 to 10s for no reason.... this car is really an enigma...
Also he was still being way too lenient on Max on turn 1.... he shouldve put a schumacher chop on him and held his place.

what an extremely disappointed and boring race from turn 2 onwards.
Schumacher chop? How much more?

the squeeze happened too late... within 10m off the line was the time to do it.
He was too far away on the left at 10m mark as he got a poor start. Even otherwise, within 10 meter? He can't move over to the right of the track within 10 meters unless he start perpendicular to the track!

Norris thinks he’s big time now, which is no surprise. Disrespectful radio comments, ‘they are not racing for anything’, when confronted with backmarkers, and now the trophy stuff. Zak needs to have a word. He’s not light years ahead of Piastri either.

That was as far over as they went, wasn't it? No driver would have a problem with that much room being left.

This is what Schumacher did:

Wasn’t following the race after Lap 1 to Lap 20!

How did Lewis manage to lose 10 seconds to the Mclarens?? Why did they put so early??

It’s impressive how he managed to reel Piastri back two times and even Perez at the end!

What's the chances of Max being asked to bring his WDC trophy to Monza?

That's not a Schumacher chop.

that's like the biggest example of an aggressive driver being over the limit in the middle of the race, but not the manoeuvre in question

Lewis didn't push max into the wall, but as far as race starts go Lewis was about as aggressive as you can be.

Singapore is possible.

This is the onboard shot from the same point on track. Remember they were much narrower cars and look at the shadow of tyres. It was definitely a very tight squeeze, but it happened at fairly rapid pace as it was a DRS overtake.

Hamilton is a better strategic thinker than Schumacher ever was.

So is Monza is Checo takes P3 in Spa, Dutch and Monza. A lot of variables. But singapore is most likely IMHO.
