With a sprint race and variable conditions there's always the possibility of getting the setup wrong and also Checo ending up with a much better setup. Hopefully it won't be a walk in the park as we've come to expect

Last year P15 was still in the same lap, so that assumption is a bit steep ...
Max had the grid drop and was told to manage once he was in the lead. If they started from pole position with a serious attempt at lapping the field, they might have. There's no point abusing the equipment in that manner though so we would never see it.langedweil wrote: ↑26 Jul 2023, 03:57Last year P15 was still in the same lap, so that assumption is a bit steep ...
Say that every week, and the racing between them doesn’t really improve. McLaren look a step ahead of Mercedes, while Aston don’t even look a part of this equation anymore. Ferrari offer nothing of note to the sport right now. All in all, it’s not that exciting, bar qualifying.
I think Merc and McL look pretty evenly matched. Will be close in Spa if they end up on the same bit of track out of T1.DGP123 wrote: ↑26 Jul 2023, 10:13Say that every week, and the racing between them doesn’t really improve. How is that possible when Checo has failed to finish second in I don’t know how many races. Max does then not lap him, but does lap people in front of him?
If it rains and there is reasonable amounts of spray, I can see the race being run behind the safety car for a lot of laps or even simply called off. Lots of concern about safety at Spa at the moment and a lack of visibility won't be conducive to the RD keeping the race going.
