It may have it's roots in national pride, but all rather moot currently with team and car performance.

Unnecessarily a distraction that is unlikely to enhance overall performance for any of them involved, in reality.

If they were consistently at the front there would be something tangible to argue about, this year though, no, nothing.

Overall it'll consume both driver's career on current trajectory.

High fuel stability has improved, tyre deg has improved. Now the SF-23 is simply just slow.

This is the perfect cue for them to start expirementing with different ways to add performance without destroying the formerly mentioned imprvements. This is a very crucial period for the 676 project. I hope they can take this very difficult moment they find themselves in and make the most out of it

They have given up on this car and will go another direction for next season. It's the correct decision but hard to see a challenge for the title any time soon unfortunately

Unlike the innate downforce deficit, efficiency remains high and is the only parameter superior to its direct rivals, very similar to the RB19 .
Spa and Monza could still be good

Monza in theory could be decent even though Lesmos and especially Ascari chicane will be critical.

They also said Hungary would be good. Fool me once, shame on you...

I've also read this recently. This is fine, but two BIG concerns. One: who is leading the new direction? Is it the same team who is leading this current design? Two: Budget cap. They've likely spent a lot this year already, How much can they actually do over one season? And with new Regs coming in 2026... is it even worth it at this point?

I get the raising of the white flag, but it's just painful with two talented drivers, contracts expiring soon, basically saying "it'll be 2-3 years before we're out of the middle pack".

Just ugly in general, lazy unresponsive front, still moves in the rear at times.

I think that is the car that mostly resembles this, minus the uber engine.

“ would prefer a faster car and try to make it reliable instead a reliable car that isnt fast “

Ferrari is doing exactly opposite of this.

2022 car was a tyre eating monster but still it came short only to RB. With that car If Ferrari didn’t messed top4 was a regular possibility. It was peaky had a smaller window but least it wasnt getting beaten by HAAS & WILLIAMS. Dont know how it is a development.

Not comparable. Closest team behind for a good portion of the season bar a few outliers, was Mercedes, 0.8% slower at the start, something 0.4% at the end (guesstimation). The F1-75 had the margin to be a tyre eating monster and still be on the podium. This season it is not the case, teams have closed the gap.

The F1 75 at the beginning of the season was not a tyre eating monster. I don't understand why this narrative is still going on.

Im not a stats man so not gonna debate on those figures and definitely other teams have improved but there is no doubt Ferrari has regressed. The car looks slower just by visuals forget about stats. That older peaky Ferrari was faster. More frustrating part is they are clueless they dont know what they are doing…hell they dont know they are improving the car or destroying it🤣🤣

The F1-75 from the beginning of last season was a monster, yes, but not a tyre eating monster. It was good in every condition and on every tyre. In qualifying and also race. It was lacking the straight line speed the RB18 had, but other than that, it was the class of the field.

Part of the straight line speed issue was the fact that they could not operate the PU at full power. It's a massive shame what the FIA did in the middle of the season last year.

If they didn't do it midseason it would've been done at the end of the year anyway. And the engine unreliability, crashes and strategy failures had put the title fight already by the summer break, so it's not like we missed out on a chance for Leclerc wdc or Ferrari WCC due to the midseason change

I do agree it was wholly unreasonable for fia to do it, given it was lobbied for by competitor and effected to improve the show (thinking it would bring RB/Ferrari back in line with others) midseason and sets bad precedent, but I don't think it robbed us of a lot.
