Without a crystal ball it is impossible to determine the severity of outcome at the point of issuing the penalty (unless that penalty is DSQ from WCC).
I think that most teams would argue that a 10% reduction in any measured metric (WT/CFD or Budget Allowance) could not be considered insignificant and would have some effect on performance.
Well they would argue it's insignificant when they are lobbying for a more severe penalty for another team, as is their job. But if someone tried to take away 10% of their CFD and WT allocation they would scream to high heaven
Wasn’t 10% thought was it? It was 7%.

You keep suggesting I’m arguing in bad faith so I’m out as you’re clearly not listening to what I’m saying.

The difference between 70% and 63% of the baseline WT allocation is 10%. If you can't see that, it's because you are misunderstanding the math.

Mercedes organized a whole illegal tyre test and the only punishment was to lose the young drivers test at seasons end. They then went on to win 8 titles after that.
A test that had previously got authorisation from both the tyre manufacturer and FIA.
It was approved with the condition that the opportunity was extended to other teams as well if it was to be done with current cars. This was not done. Coincidently, Pirelli has now twice in 3 years introduced tyres mid season after which Mercedes tyre performance has gotten way better.

It's 10% of the amount they'd be getting, yes, but that's not a fair implementation as it hits a lower team more than a top team. 7% loss for #1 team, 11.5% loss for #10 team.

Fairest is to make it 10% of the 100% figure for everyone.

Ooh, conspiracy!

Twice the FIA has implemented changes which helped Red Bull - engine modes and floor edge changes. Ooh, conspiracy!

The floor edge changes were widely thought to be in Mercs favor prior to having the cars on track. More or less the FIA wanted to help Merc, but it backfired

I have a better one: Tire change 2013. Vettel went on to win 9 in a row. Conspiracy much

My point exactly and thanks to AR3-GP for the patronising suggestion that I didn’t understand the maths. :?

TD45 isn't even applicable to 2022 IIRC. Wasn't that the one introduced just a few months ago?

So strictly speaking not on topic, AGAIN =D>
