McLaren 327 at speed trap whereas Max was 339, Charles 337 and Lewis at 334. So much wing for McLaren, which is why Oscar was doing well in S2.
With that wing i expected Mclarens to have S2 locked down. Perhaps it'll play into their strengths in the race.

They better hope it’s not a dry race.

Mclaren are going to die a slow painful death on these straights.

Wet or extremely hot and they'll be alright in the race

Hamilton squeezing every drop out of the car. I think Russel just lacking experience in prepping the car. He can do better.
Great running by all the top 10. Max just pulled everything together in the end purple in all 3 sectors and by 0.8 seconds.
Perez redeemed himself and Ferrari back in the mix.
Aston seemed a little improved but may have been overheating the tyres near the end of the lap? They seem strong in the earlier phase.
By eye Mercedes went with their normal medium downforce wing with Russell, Hamilton has a low downforce wing.
Russell betting on wet track imo.
Yeah they said so in the broadcast.

Hamilton purple in sector 3 though. Beating both Mclarens feels like overperforming the car.
I find that hard to believe, he just benefited from going last and a better track.

Extremely hot will not work for their tire deg.

Nope. That’s not what happened.

Russel always gambling. Almost like Jenson Button. Smh. Shows he is desperate to win and or ot confident in his own pace over Hamilton's.
For Sure!!

Max is a sore and spoilt brat though. Listen to his radio with his race engineer. Only apologizes when things goes his way.

His lap was very serene though. Smooth and no errors. Not on the edge at all. The car has more pace in it.
For Sure!!

Or he's quite aware he has to try and take any potential advantage he can to maximise his result in the race. They're not winning anything so why not try something different? You lot read way too much into simple decisions.

Hamilton is seriously fast on all un-drsed straights. DRS closed its hamilton > ferrari > RB, and by some margin. With DRS it's back to RB > fer > ham. I think there's still no stopping verstappen on sunday but ham will have a good race nonetheless I believe, Lec will have his mirrors full.

Last year Perez was 0.8 behind Max in quali and got P3. I think getting P2 should easily be attainable for him in Quali
Perez , You had one job. Still P2 I guess. What can I expect from someone who got gapped by ocon in quali

Hamilton might struggle with rear tires though.

Holy crap. The difference through the high speed corners is very stark.
