Piastri had a damaged floor last race and clearly fell back because of it, Lando had it now.

Is there a reason for phrasing it like you did?

Piastri said in the post-qualy interviews that he hasn't driven here before in an F1 car in the dry, (FP1 was wet, F2 didn't race here in 2021) so didn't know the braking points as the track dried. He thought that with more dry running he could have been up to speed and where Charles was. I also think if Lando didn't damage his floor, he'd have been up there too.

By the telemetry

Leclerc lost 0.4s at the exit of Rivage and entry of Turn 9 and another 0.3 at Turn 14.

Piastri has done excellent job at Turn 5-6-7 and 12-13

Only 2 tenths slower than Max. But of course lando would have been close as well without damage

I thought the same thing when I saw that, haha!

Almost 9 tenths ahead of everyone... including his teammate in basically the same car. Ridiculous.

Ferrari P2 this week instead of McLaren?

And Aston P5 their new places, it really seems that now we have this new ranking with McLaren fighting for P2 and Aston sunk at P5

Racefans has a more fitting title:

Verstappen crushes rivals in wet Spa qualifying but penalty hands pole to Leclerc.

Mighty lap by the champ! =D>

Mclaren probably made poor setup choices. In addition, Lando damaged his floor in Q1, and Oscar had never driven a dry lap at this circuit (not in F1 or F2) so didn't know the braking points. They could have been a bit closer to RB.

Mclaren probably chose way too big a rear wing for this race! Still though their sector 2 times weren’t purple I think…

Where are the moderators? I come to see this thread to be informed in detail about pace differences, which car/driver stood out etc. But what do I find? Pages filled with disgust on VER by apparently Merc/HAM fans.

Mega lap from Max to blow everyone out the water. Verstappen in F1 Vs the test in F2.

So, given we had some wet and dry running, which means no drs and drs…. Is there any interesting observations on the speed of cars with drs and none?

Any word on how the teams updates have been? Mercedes big sidepod update working?

This forum is a lost cause.

Looking forward to the rest of the racing.
