Not good for Lando and others second to their teammates

Too close to double stack, better to run the lap then pit I think, which will loose time too, but probably wiser
Start behind safety car, 2 laps, on full wets. This might end up full wets to softs. If Verstappen doesn't lose today he will never lose. This should be chaotic.

That’s a good point, maybe not just 2 laps, but it would probably be quicker to do a 2 stop rather than a 3

Hoping for a clean start and also clean pit stops if needed.

A shame it will be rolling start - Piastri will not have a chance to jump on standing start.

I was going to do a write up, but I don’t think people will waste their time reading it, lol… So instead, here is the telemetry comparison for the Sprint Shootout between the 2 McLaren drivers and the best positioned Ferrari (Caros) and Mercedes (Lewis)… A lot of interesting conclusions that could be driven from it:

Did you say something?

Apart from a couple of key points, Lando and Oscar are almost the same driver.
That’s why yesterday I said that we shouldn’t just give Lando 2 tenths “because Lando”… Having a gap so close between them is the best thing that could have happened to McLaren
As is often the case, we were in agreement from the start 😆

I'm afraid that Lando might soon be eclipsed, which as a Brit is a shame, but you cannot ignore Piastris trajectory.

I wouldn't write off Lando immediately. Oscar has to show consistency. On another note what is the point of wet tyres if they aren't used at all.

Lando is a fantastic driver, but if a guy comes in and is up to speed and sometimes beating you after half a season then it's time to check over your shoulder.

In terms of consistency, if you look at the smart way he has approached this season quietly and diligently I am not sure he will have issues being consistent.

I would say that is good. Lando and Oscar might work together to better each other. On another note there is no point in wet tyres if you can't race with them. Double stacking is gonna be a nightmare.

Great pit stop to not get held up

Lando rejected pit suggestion to double stack. Bad decision by him.

Let's see what Piastri can do against Verstappen.

I wish someone did a double stack so we can compare. But the team said to Lando twice that they think double stack is faster - he said 1 lap on wets.

Oh well. Its better to be dissapointed for losing a higher place instead to be dissapointing not to get into top 10.

It was the right decision, he would have potentially lost a lot more time while waiting for Piastri to exit and then finding a gap to exit the pit box, the slow pit stop and traffic coming out of it didn’t help either… Doing what Red Bull did was the sensible decision.
