Either Merc is very softly sprung or they are running very low. I noticed they are scraping the skid more than anyone else. Immediately out of Stavelot, the car is already scraping. Whereas the RB and the Ferrari only seem to start scraping before blanchimont.

I think Russell was just desperate to have a lap in. The lap before his final lap (where he had the incident with hamilton) was a hot lap , he lost it at one turn. There was further miscommunication from the team engineers where they both told their drivers to push through the traffic before their final laps with both not saying that there was time left. George even told his race engineer after the mess about how verstappen went last so they must have had a lot of time. Both Hamilton and Russell talked about miscommunication in their post quali interviews. Bono even didn't tell Hamilton that George was on a fast lap(before the mess) , Hamilton saw George in his mirrors and went off the racing line fortunately.

I do agree, lewis should be more aggresive and be more nasty when he gets the wrong end of the the stick. This "softy, polite, love my teammate" attitude isn't going far. Maybe internally he is banging tables etc but i dont think so. Russell just plays on this and i am convinced he isn't as good team player as lewis is. Russell is prepared to screw his teammate and argue the case afterwards. He has been slower all weekend and doesn't want lewis to get close to pole.

Does look they are running low. Would explain the return of the purposing more than others. Perhaps allowing to run a lower rear wing?

Did Hamilton pick up any damage from the contact? I thought he was going to pass both Gasly and Piastri.

He was worried about his front wing on the radio. Idk much more than than. Bono just told him to close the gap as much as possible

I see what is happening. Hamilton has gotten over the 2021 AbuDhabi blues and normal service is resuming. Once the car gets more and more to the way lewis wants to drive Russell won't have even a sniff again.

Russell refuses to acknowledge he is the issue. He is already blaming the car and "something strange is happening to the car" i think he just needs to stop being a idiot and get his head down and drive fast.

Was George told about Hamilton’s penalty? I’m surprised that he didn’t make under 5 seconds. He was closing on Hamilton towards the end. Missed out by less than a tenth.

Russell and his team always try to beat the other side i be surprised they never said anything and if Russell being a d!ck he is today didn't want to finish ahead of lewis today. he must of been gutted he didnt finish ahead.

In the latter part of the race Hamilton was unable to do anything about Pierre Gasly, who was up ahead in third place: "With the collision I had floor damage, so I lost a lot of downforce on the floor. And unfortunately then the rear end was just tailing, the tyres were going off, and I couldn't get any closer.”

From that interview:
Hamilton agreed that it was the right call by the FIA to run the field for several laps behind the safety car before the rolling start.

"Oh my God, you can't see a thing out there,” he said. “So it's good that they did those laps. Then even then when we got going down to turn five you could not see the braking zone, we're could have just stayed flat forever.

“You're lifting at like 300 metres but then all sudden a sign appears and it's like, ‘Oh shoot the corner's there.’"

He really looked quite fast! I too thought he would get Gasly and Piastri after Perez! I wanted to see his pace compared to Max in these conditions…
