I believe checo will soon clear Charles once the DRS gets activated. He just has to keep close enough on the first 2 laps before it’s turned on.
Outside of turn 1-4, I can’t see anyone getting past the red bull at the ends of the straights.
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.

RB are pretty slow with DRS closed. Ham with +6 km/h advantage with DRS closed by default relative to checo (323 vs 316-317), double slipstream behind perez/charles down the kemmel straight, I can see it happening on lap 1 :D When DRS is enabled that is when Checo will be a threat

There was a DRS train behind Charles so that buffeted down the RB19's true top speed.

Erm. It was interesting when Charles said Lewis was no threat, he could keep him behind even while fuel saving.

How many races have they been legitimately the second fastest car? Its shocking that they are where they are in the standings.

Very lonely race for Lewis. Good on George for making places up

It was quite clear looking at lap times. Merc just isn't as efficient as the Ferrari. Hamilton was losing 3-5 tenths a lap in Sector 2 to Leclerc, but was only gaining 1 or 2 back in Sector 1. Sector 3 was generally even though Hamilton seemed to suffer from lack of rear grip through the bus stop chicane particularly at the end of stints (so was slower through Sector 3 as the stint progressed).

Mercedes was solidly 3rd best car today. Ferrari clear 2nd. Hamilton would have likely finished P5 but for Sainz's L1 shenanigans.

Post race interview Lewis saying the bouncing has returned hard this weekend and team doesn’t know where it come from. But will work through the data to see what was happening

i think thats some bs, because the car was softer sprung than it has been a long time.

Not to mention i was onboard with Lewis all race and it didn't look like anything other than soft suspension coupled with a track that is bumpy in spots.

Only seen the TV onboards but I seem to remember earlier on in the weekend there was some bouncing?

There was pretty extreme bouncing on low fuel in qualifying iirc

I mean the driver is saying that they've experienced it and the team wants to figure out where it's coming from

And it's very visible on the low fuel running, so it's in no way "bs"

I'm talking about some people on social media at least one news outlet are saying proposing are back. That's not the same thing as bouncing!

It might be due to running to running very very low downforce settings ? I'm not an aerodynamicist, it's just an hypothesis.

Regarding Merc race.
Russell as always did a good job in race pace but he's really far from Lewis again.
Lewis did his best apparently the Ferrari in the hands of Charles was simply faster today, and didn't had tyre deg issue.
As I said after Silverstone I believe Ferrari are a bit faster now, if they have track position especially it's difficult to finish ahead of them. Silverstone and Hungary were just operational disaster from them but today showed it.

On a more positive note apart from Austria I find Lewis consistency pretty impressive :
Monaco : 4th
Spain : 2nd
Canada : 3rd
Austria : 8th
GB : 3rd
Hungary : 4th
Belgium : 4th

1 point behind Alonso (would be ahead without the stupid 5 sec penalty yersteday)

I seen enough of proposing to know when I see it. And it was there 100%. That's what they mean with "bouncing" in this case.
