great long run from Lando so far. Max is unreal tho, in the high 1:15s
Lando maybe had 3-4 laps in free air and those were 16.1-16.3, I think the deficit is still somewhere between 2-4 tenths in race pace, but during the session It seemed quite difficult to overtake unless there was a significant pace advantage, + the update rear wing has reduced drag.. so lets see

Yep, if we're anywhere in the ballpark (2 or so tenths off), that's the range where favourable circumstances e.g. timely safety car in the race could allow us to beat them. Cautiously optimistic for tomorrow, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves and be disappointed!

I wonder how many updated rear wing the team has? Which rear wing will Oscar perform tomorrow? Will Lando get updates?

I noticed that Oscar has an unloaded beam wing, and Lando has a beam wing with maximum downforce. On the rear wing, everything is clear here.

From telemetry, we can conclude that Red Bull did not twist the engine to the fullest.

I dont think Mclaren has done that also. They never do on Friday.

Many times this year the Mclaren has improved less from Friday to the Saturday than other teams. Not uniformly, but enough that the idea that Mclaren always dial down more than others is now a myth. it certainly was true in the past few years, but this and last year has been different.

As long as we outscore Ferrari and AMR by 8-9 points, I will be thrilled.

Definitely good to not get ahead, this was not a representative session but seeing Lando top the timesheets is always nice. There is a clearly more speed in the AM, Merc and RB, not sure about Ferrari.

Hopefully more to come with the new rear wing on Norris' car tomorrow. Also Lando was stuck in traffic for the end of his soft run behind a slippery Williams so the true pace is probably better than the average shown.

How can you conclude that? From T13 onwards (onto the straight) Red Bull is gaining on McLaren and that is probably where engine power does the most work.

In most corners Norris carries more speed but loses in the braking zones where Verstappen brakes later, perhaps doing more trail braking than McLaren is able to do.
