A decent friday and why is this topic dead?

Cars seems to have changed for the better with the Spa upgrades and the little here and there bits this weekend.

Hamilton is in a great place.
"It [Friday] was great. I woke up this morning so excited to get in the car and FP1 was actually a really good session for us," Hamilton told Sky Sports, before adding: "The car was feeling good from the get-go, thanks to great work from everyone in the factory. We made some changes from FP1 to FP2. It wasn't as good, but it's good data to have.

Russell's stint was actually on the soft tyre. He only swapped to mediums for the final 2 laps.

Hamton will soon change his tune when he has to push like hell to stay in view of the redbull.
The car just feels good because he is desperately trying to keep up with a faster car yet.
For Sure!!

The standout for me is Fred on the hard. 0.1 faster than his Stroll who used the medium.
Merc in both Lewis and George's hands showing metronomic consistency, bodes well for the race but suspect if it's dry it will likely still mean a Red Bull win.
Shaping up to be a good race, maybe the most competitive this season.

Credit to Russell. Rough first half of the year but has delivered on first race weekend back, especially with tricky conditions. Maybe he's feeling better with the car

Too dry for inters on that final run, HAM & other pilots too reporting tyres were hot & overheating. TSU impeding incident:

Lewis telemetry. He was still full throttle passing Yuki.

For comparison his previous lap incase he was later on the throttle for example

RedBull dis this for revenge because Lewis annoyed Max in Q1. They continue to use the AT cars as proxy weapons in the races. And I wonder they haven't been investigated for it.

It would be better to comp vs RUS Q2 lap tbh. The run plan as I can make out was: lap 20 outlap, 21 fast, 22 cool down, 23 go again. His 1st attempt (21) he aborted because of traffic, 22 included TSU moment and on 23 he was encouraged to keep pushing but aborted because the tyres were overheating.

Lap 18 I believe is from before he pitted - wetter track & on spent tyres, prob not the best comp.

Literally the worst conspiracy theory iv'e ever heard. Lewis isn't a threat to RB, and likely wont be for some time. I'd have expected a better comment from you to be fair.

Hamilton might have gone the wrong way with setup:
“I really don’t know,” said Hamilton. ”The car didn’t feel too great after P2. It felt great in P1 and I’ve just not had that feeling ever since. So I’m not really sure what it is.”

He believes he is “too far from the front runners” to challenge for a podium finish in tomorrow’s race and said he isn’t feeling confident about his chances. “The car has just been difficult. I’ll try and turn the negative from today into a positive tomorrow.”

Not really. Russell's tyres were in much better condition towards the end of his lap. Lewis was already starting to drop off towards the end of S2.
