I'm just worried about the water splashes that the rain and intermediate tires kick up. No matter how it turns out, the race will follow the safety car.

I think it is just too unpredictable. It is not one big cloud that is coming in but rather small storm cells that can miss you by couple of kilometers. Most weather radars don't show anything imminent toward the track but that could easily change if wind changes.
