A concept change is already planned for next year, so from now on I don't really care if they finish in the points or not. Maybe it's better to finish the season as far down the order as possible. They need every single minute they can get in the wind tunnel and simulation.

For me, the most important thing for the rest of the season will be the team to avoid strategical and procedural mistakes (highly unlikely) and the drivers to avoid crashes (not sure about this either). Also to learn valuable things for next year's car, obviously.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to have shifted my mindset towards the rest of the season. A bit of coping I guess. As for the res tof the season, I hope for a good wekeend in Monza and strides with the next upgrade package particularly at front limited circuits.

How is it possible that the car got damaged so heavily?

5th is about the best result you can hope for if you’re Sainz and Ferrari.

Worst scenario having a car with little DF on cold inters with no gap behind but he did well to hold off Lewis and Lando.

Bravo for Sainz, executed it best from what that car was capable of.

Gutted for Leclerc, but to be honest it’s only his fault if the degradation of performance came from the Saturday’s crash. He should have known better since he’s dealing with incompetent mechanics from his side of the garage. In any case he brought more financial losses with it.

If it was due the contact from the race, I couldn’t see it better so I wont comment.

This sounds similar to Monaco2021.

Driver unfortunately crashed before race …team has whole day to fix it somehow they dont…they basically fail to do their de-facto job that is to repair the car and then few ppl say its drivers fault.
Like as if having a crash on Saturday and having a clean race on Sunday is impossible, it has never happened ever the driver should alredy be prepared that if he bins it he must forget the race.

Alonso said Leclerc went off at T11 too in the race so that might've been when the damage happened

Perhaps the endplate got lodged in the floor.

Just watched the Sainz last stint onboard after the restart. Diabolical.

He was repeatedly in full countersteer out of T13.

He did pretty well to keep it on track and keep Lewis behind. I was worried Sainz might get "Albon'd" :?
