Not sure why they chose to ran Fernando without a tow at the end. Didn't watch the onboard but apparently there were no mistakes in the lap. Anyways lets see tyre wear tomorrow and race pace
R u sure, he has not made any mistakes in the last run?
I was expecting him somewhere 7th ahead of Mclr & one Merc.
That's what one person said in the autosport forums at least, that he didn't make a mistake, didn't watch it myself.
Anyways....interesting to see where AM lost time & r these corners unique to Monza.

I didn't see one.

Like I said, S1 was the only sector he wasn't green. So, if he made a mistake it was there. That really narrows it to the chicane after the start finish straight, turns 1and 2. The rest of S1 is just throttle.

Alonso:
"We knew it was going to be a difficult qualifying, Q3 was the target. The simulations were between 8th and 12th. The track doesn't suit us and we will suffer tomorrow. The objective is to score points, top 7 or 8 would be the maximum we can aim for. We will try to cover Hamilton, who is our championship rival. The car felt good, but there are only 6 corners, there is not much to do but accelerate. We have not been able to fully appreciate the improvements in Holland. There are better and worse weekends, this is one of the worst. Tomorrow we must not make any mistakes".

Good to know then. In the end the bad result from 2022 is preserved this year too as a trend. Hopefully that means Singapore will be great just like last year.

Lance's horrendous form is affecting the team in all areas - testing, feedback, set-up, tire learning, quali strategy, and ultimately championship standing.
Ferrari will overhaul them for 3rd at the end of this race unless Ferrari's f***up badly.

This earns more windtunnel hours in a non-championship contending year. Silver lining.

Worst pace of the year for now…
ALO still manage to be in Q3 but sad to see this pace

Then, Monza is a very special track so let’s just hope to go quickly to next race

Alonso says weaknesses haven't improved yet. I thought zandvoort data was partly encouraging but Monza shows lots of work to do still

I don’t think I’d be worried if I were Aston. They’ll recover all of their pace at Singapore.

Went back and looked at the F1 tempo and he lost a tenth in the turns 1 and 2. He should have been even or faster through there.

It seems to me that the soft tires were not in the correct temp window as the lap had no big mistakes and there was practically no improvement over the yellow tires.
