I miss a little more aggressiveness from lando. And it is not the first time...

A shame about Albon, his heavy defending cost us a spot against Hamilton.
We weren't fast enough. But it was better than I was thinking, I expected our tyres to struggle more with a 44c track, but we looked good.
Without Albon, Norris would have stayed under 5 seconds to Hamilton. It's just that Albon had very high top speed and would never allow Norris to run side by side in the first chicane. You really need an overlap like Perez/Sainz showed.

Also, let's not forget that we are faster than Aston here...
In qualifying, yes. In a race it will be the other way around.
Let's Hope Not...
You turned out to be right. McLaren in the race were a net 4 force. Which is pretty good on a track like this.

At least it’s good to know Mclaren had pace for a P6 and 7.
Let’s keep the points coming in. We out scored Aston🤣

I just wonder if Lando should've just kept the position when Albon pushed him off at turn 1. You'd think he would've been able to open up a 5 second gap.

But Albon is there to race and we weren't quick enough to get by.

I think 7th and 8th was probably the best result. And would have likely have 8th and 9th without Lewis taking out Oscar. But, the car didn't go backwards throughout, it pretty much stayed where it was. So, not bad overall.

But we didn't, otherwise we'd have passed Albon and Hamilton would be behind, race cars have to race, not be quicker over a theoretical clear lap 😉

We didn't drop as much as I thought, 1 place. Good work from the team and drivers.

In two weeks there is an opportunity to recoup. In addition, if the final update package arrives in time, which I think will allow us to win back a few tenths from the circle.

About Monza: In racing mode, we were faster than both Williams and Aston. This is a good sign.

I do wonder if penalties should match any impact on the other driver.

Hamilton has a 5 sec penalty so Norris should have finished 7th right or did he made a 5 sec distance?

He was a lot faster and was too far ahead, 3 seconds after his penalty. 7 Seconds on Merit + he lost time bumping Oscar. Theirs was a faster race car.

Why? Because it didn't get you what you want? It is very clear and the reasons for it are totally correct, punishments are based on the mistake, not the consequences.

Yes very true but if Albon put it in the wall early then we would have been P6&7. We know the limitations and how racing works.
