Vodaphone McLaren Mercedes MP4-24

I meant the shark-fin.
It's benefits are apparently much smaller and not without trade-offs.

I'm pleased they finally put some effort into the FW end plates, and diffuser. I like new exhausts too and I'm pleased they replaced the (pretty) cascading front wing flaps with a more efficient one.

The battle with alonso and the BMWs was good.
The car should off ran with the KERS still, they are still slow without it, even though the car seems more stable in the turns.

I still say the exhaust chimneys should be chopped off. A new duck bill nose should be in order also.
Looks like we have some Mclaren engineers scoping out the site. :P
Mclaren you owe me one! I got you some speed!

The question is: was the practice a true reflection the car's improvements?
It was quite humbling that vettel was hammering the RBR for about 4 laps to get on top of the list and failed to go faster than lewis in sector 3. I don't think the RBR was running heavy either.

It certainly looks that way doesn't it mate.

I wonder if we will see it like that all weekend, and I wonder what exactly they are trying to achieve with an asymetrical diffuser...

Ok, two questions here:
1. The diffuser definitely looks asymmetrical. How come?
2. The blue paint coming from the front of the car came out of the diffuser as expected, but there is virtually no paint marks on the top diffuser's walls. Is this because the airflow there is more straight, or is it because there is not much flow through the top part? Or am I not seeing it right?
Skeptical scrutiny is the means, in both science and religion, by which deep thoughts can be winnowed from deep nonsense.

you have a nice point... i was also thinking about that. but prior i was thinking if the clockwise nature of the circuit was something. but that's killing it. i hope mclaren gets on the podium. hopefully, make a 3-4 stop agressive strategy. hahaha i dont know. I hope they get a good weekend. people from mercedes should see their "flagship" dominatem, not their customers (Brawn).

Race Prediction
1. Webber
2. Button
3. Vettel
4. Hamilton
5. Massa

Is Kovalainen also running the new diffuser? Or just Hamilton?

Because there was little difference in qualifying pace between the two drivers.

I have one problem with them, when you look at the front you see that most of the color is on the left side when viewed from the driver’s position.
But on the rear you see all the color on the right side.
So what is the reason for this?

Could this be the difference the new diffusor makes?
I would say it is a bit to much. There must be a lot of other effects in this time difference but we should keep a look at this during the race.

During quali I saw a comparison between Hamilton and Kovalainen. It was visible
that Hamiltons car was several car lengths faster just through last chicane.
