Yeah until the rear end slips out, a little bit of that on a fast lap in Q and we could get ahead, otherwise they do look faster.

We seem to be mixing it with Merc at 3/4th fastest team at worst, after that we can only hope for the best.

could be second behind the Ferraris if this RB struggle is genuine. That would be our best shot at the win imo, Red Bull are too strong deg wise and operationally on Sunday.

Don't mention the undercut!!

I still think we have been better in Q than race so I'm hoping we finish no lower than 7/8 tomorrow with a sensible hope for higher such as 3rd 4th, but if a Ferrari can have bad Qualy lap at the wrong time then at Singapore it can make all the difference. I think RB will pull through in Qualy, they were having upshift issues today.

The channel has become more uniform in width. Oscar also used an updated rear wing. I wonder what performance gains the other updates gave? 3 tenths or even more?

That lap from Lando was super impressive!

Good work from Oscar to be only 4/10th's behind despite having never driven a car in Singapore and running the old Aero spec.

I'm so happy with the driver pairing McLaren have got. Watching the way Oscar progresses over the weekend is fantastic. He doesn't get flustered, not over eager, just goes about his business. He and Lando are amazing talents.

He's only 4 tenths off Norris but it maybe that on raw performance they are within a tenth and the rest is the update. But it was impressive from Piastri in FP3.

The gap between them is usually between 0.15 and 0.3 seconds per lap depending on track length and other factors. Probably not more than 0.25 with this track length.

With a 0.427 gap that generally puts this upgrade at somewhere between 0.13 and 0.28 seconds a lap for this track length.

To add to that remember that Piastri also did get some of the new parts. So that's just the parts that Lando got that Piastri didn't. I guess the parts we know that LN got that OP didn't get are new floor and sidepods. Can anyone else confirm if OP got any of the other new parts?

Edit. Looking at stills from the FP3 video it doesn't look like he's using the new front wing end plates either. It's a bit too grainy for me to tell if he's using the updated halo furniture or not. Parts that OP might be running but I personally can't confirm are:

• rear wing end plate
  New halo furniture
  New rear brake ducts
  New rear toe link shroud
  New beam wing geometry

They've been getting closer of late and everyone is closer here anyway so I'm not sure the drivers are as important as usual in the gaps but it's all guesswork.

I'm maybe optimistic of a more effective upgrade than 2 tenths.
