The beginning of the session immediately shows us a different attitude from Red Bull that already visually presents itself with a lower ground clearance, as well as with a step back regarding the solution of the bottom placed on the two RB19. Yesterday Max Verstappen tested the updated solution in FP1 and later it was also supplied to Sergio Perez in FP1. This morning, however, the technicians of Milton Keynes preferred to take a step back, although the new solution was not a radical change. The setup work was certainly more important to improve performance, although the Mexican still complains about a light rear, something that may be more pleasing to Verstappen who – complaints aside – starts fighting for the best time together with the Ferraris, something that yesterday practically never happened during the 2 hours of free practice.
RB started FP3 by running lower and switched back to old floor edge according to Formula Uno.
This certainly explains some of the drama from yesterday. As other said, the track is smoother than they expected, and they might not be happy with the upgraded floor edge (or maybe not a good track to test it).
