Very, very good news regarding the renewal of the contract with Oscar! Happy for Oscar, happy for the team! I hope that Lando will continue with McLaren until 2029, so that Red Bull stops dreaming.

Great news👍🏻
Ahahaha!

It made total sense at this point that they would , I just expected it in the break!

Right now, f*ck him. Give him the worst equipment and make him always walk 1m behind lando with his head down like a b*tch.
I’ve mentioned to you before that I think they are listening to us👀😂

I'm so happy about Oscar staying, I was so sure he was getting poached by redbull in 2025 with Webber as his manager. Surprised he signed for 2026 too, with the new regs.
It's great that both drivers show so much faith in the team, and I hope it pays off.

I guess we will see this coming through all teams. For both team and driver it is only logical to sign the contract for 2026 and not have major swaps between 25 and 26. Same was the case for 2014. Except for the promotion of Magnussen and Ric from TR to RedBull, the driver market was quiet on all top teams.
So absoluteley logical to sign till 26. And 3 years is not super long, isn't it?

It's also like football, if your guy has 1 year left on the contract you get super worried!
Unlike football a contract doesn't tend to be 5 years here so it can get squeaky bum time real quick if you don't sort out the numbers.
With Oscar's trajectory, waiting till next year was always a risk given that Sainz, Perez and others finish contracts next year, unless they sign. With the way he deals with pressure you can't ignore that easier than some others he could slip into these bigger teams.

Norris has a deal till 25 but that won't get addressed until next year, most likely.

An interesting Nugget, current betting odds have Norris third favourite to win the Japanese GP.

I hope they can be competitive with each other like Carlando were without the fans constantly fighting. I would hate for the fanbase to turn into Tifosi, though I see some of it happening already.

Fair play to the Alpine admin lol
Lando is a bit of a bozo in Suzuka, I hope he gets rid of that curse and has a good weekend there for once. I foresee a podium for Oscar.
On to another topic, when do you think Lando should take his engine penalty? I think he should've done it in Monza.

Mclaren has created a backup if Norris decides to leave at the end of 2024/25. Hopefully by then Oscar will have enough experience & racecraft to step up and be the lead driver for Mclaren.

According to Stella they haven’t even changed 50% of the MCL60 they want to….. and they still won’t be able to implement the full 100% of changes on the 2024 car !😬

But he was upset because they favored Lando! And ruthless!… Lol

Great job by the Team to secure him, one less thing to worry about in the short term and maintain focus on developing the car and sustain the upward trajectory!

VERY INTERESTING and supports Lando's post race interview saying that there was so much more to come

Ahahahaha I knew when I wrote that you'd pop up! I never said they favoured Lando or he was Second driver. I said I don't wasn't to see their positions swapped against the normal pit stop routine any more (And that I didn't think it was a problem so far) because I want him to sign a contract and yes I think there is a risk he could be ruthless if not happy if it continues :D

But hey wants a detail or two round here!

Well they didn't swap him at Singapore and they gave him a contract this week, so clearly they listened.

Anyway, where's that white paper you owe me!
